Our client is a transportation, storage, and logistics services company currently experiencing huge growth. They are seeking a Millwright/Industrial Mechanic to join their team in Prince Rupert, BC.
This key role will be responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of industrial stationary equipment, with the goal of improving operational capacity. Settled in the Great Bear Rainforest and just next to Mount Hays, Prince Rupert is about as Pacific Northwest as it gets. This port city is linked to the mainland by a bridge, making it about 1.5 hour trip from Terrace and 8 hours from Prince George via the Trans-Canada Highway. Prince Rupert is ideal for outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and bear-spotting, but it also has plenty of shops, restaurants, and museums in addition to the necessary amenities.

Salary: $42.50-$48.00/hr depending on experience.

Shifts: Monday to Friday day shifts, flexibility required during peak times.

Able to work outdoors and in confined spaces and heights.
Red Seal or Journey-level Millwright/Industrial Mechanic certification preferred.
Minimum 5 years experience repairing industrial equipment.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of Cummins engines is an asset.
Welding/fabrication skills.
Medical and Drug tests are required.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
Must provide own tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify the maintenance priorities related to stationary equipment.
Perform thorough visual inspections on all stationary equipment.
Maintain the mobile equipment by following the documented best practices for that equipment.
Diagnose problems related to stationary equipment.
Replace defective or heavily worn parts and components.
Adjust and tune equipment’s components.
Test and validate repairs.
Other duties as required.
