Job Description
Birla Carbon Hamilton Plant is looking for 2-3 Material Handlers for the Warehouse department.

Carbon black is safe and it’s a highly engineered microscopic product. Whenever you use something that is black, it probably contains carbon black. In fact, it is hard to imagine the world without it. So even though you cannot see it, carbon black is everywhere around us.

It makes tires safer, stronger for longer and makes cars more comfortable
It enables more efficient and better farming through water management for irrigation, retention and UV protection
It is a key component in wires, computers and technology
It provides access to water for many, thanks to plastic pipes and seals that prevent leaks
You can even find it in your clothes, shoes, toys, printing inks and banknotes providing a deeper black that lasts longer

We Need You To:

Operate packaging equipment and counterbalance forklift
Sample and code products for lab testing
Prepare, clean, load and transfer trailers and hopper cars
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Complete all work orders, assignments as assigned and commit to on-time performance
Prepare and maintain all required reports and related documents
Repair pallets as required
Actively participate in all quality related programs including ISO 9000
Perform other duties as assigned

Experience & Abilities you bring:

Previous forklift experience
Valid fortklift license
AZ/DZ license would be considered an asset
Previous experience in a large scale manufacturing environment
Comfortable working outdoor at times
Commitment to safety and the environment
Strong attention to detail, analytical and trouble shooting skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
Any experience with cointinuous improvement will be considered an asset
Work independently with little supervision
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Shift/Working Conditions:

Able to climb stairs and ladders, work at heights and work in dusty environments
Able to work outdoors and in all weather conditions
Able to lift at least 50 lbs
Able to operate basic mechanical tools and controls safely and efficiently
Occasional overtime/on-call duties as required
12 hours shifts. 2 days on, 2 days off
