Job Description
Birla Carbon Hamilton Plant is looking for four(4) fulltime Millwright's for the Maintenance and Repair department. The successful candidate, under the supervision of the Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on various types of equipment to maximize operating reliability. The selected candidate NEEDS TO HAVE Red Seal Certification for consideration.

We Need You To:

Maintains, services, inspects, checks, monitors. calibrates, tests, upgrades, relocates, reconditions, lubricates, fabricates, fit-welds, replaces, modifies, rebuilds, installs and repairs all of our new and existing mechanical equipment
Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and restores to operational capability all mechanical breakdowns consistent with our commitment to the timely resolution of all emergencies
Completes all maintenance work orders, assignments, schedules, plans and priority work lists
Recommends the purchase of mechanical parts/equipment, tools and modification of mechanical equipment and procedures
Prepares and maintains all related mechanical reports and documents
Actively participate in mechanical related progams including ISO 9000 and world class maintenance

Experience & Abilities you bring:

High school Diploma, GED or equivalent
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Industrial Mechanical Millwright Certificate valid in Ontario
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience within large scale manufacturing
Previous chemical or carbon black manufacturing experience will be considered an asset
Experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as fans, blowers, pumps, gearboxes, steam turbines, bucket elevators, belt and screw conveyors, dust collectors, steam traps and piping
Previous experience with 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement programs will be considered an asset
Shift/Working Conditions:

Able to climb stairs and ladders, work at heights and work in dusty environments
Able to work outdoors and in all weather conditions
Able to lift at least 50 lbs
Able to operate basic mechanical tools and controls safely and efficiently
Occasional overtime/on-call duties as required
Shift: Days - 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday. (This role may transition to rotating shifts in future)
One week of afternoon shift (3pm to 11pm) required in rotation (approx once every 7 weeks)
