SKILLED TRADES
Industrious and detail-oriented are a few of the qualities that you will bring with you as a highly skilled Gear Machinist. Applicants must have a certificate of qualification or have at least 3 years experience in areas covered by an apprenticeship within this skilled trade. Aerospace and experience with Lean Manufacturing is an asset.

General Machinist 2-Gear Machinist
The ideal candidate will have the ability to set up and operate gear cutting machines. -
CNC Shaping, CNC Hob and Spiral Bevel Grinding/Cutting machines, to close tolerances.
Number of Positions: 2

Machine Time: 3 years and up
• This job is located in Tecumseh, Ontario.
• Excellent blueprint reading ability including thorough understanding of geometric, dimension and tolerancing.
• Fully capable of all aspects of CNC cylindrical grinding skills and practices.
• Fully capable of machine cycle and tool optimization.
Responsibilities:
• Sets up and operates two or more types of gear-cutting and finishing machines, such as gear shapers, hobs and spiral bevel grinder/generators, to machine spline or gear teeth on metal blanks according to machining instructions and knowledge of gear types and gear machining. Reads process sketches to determine gear dimensions/specifications, tooling requirements and machine settings.
• Verifies conformance using micrometers, gear measuring wires, master gears, and special gear inspection equipment.
• Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, fixed gauges, height gauges and other measuring devices.
• Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to supervisor.

Requirements
• Completion of secondary school is required.
• 3 - 5 years of work experience in the trade
• English (written and spoken) required.
• Require criminal record check.

Additional information
• Full-time, permanent position.
• Must be willing and able to work rotating weekday shifts and or Steady weekends with overtime weekly as required.
• Paid over time after 40 hours worked.
Wage Rate - $27.00 per hour Canadian, subject to Collective Agreement
