Reporting to the Mechanic Shop Manager, the Field service Mechanic is primarily responsible for providing mobile service and repair for company engines as well as performing various repairs on the company’s variety of heavy duty mobile equipment. Located just a 25 minute drive from Vaughan, Newmarket, and Aurora, King, ON is a great option for those who like the small town life but still want to be close to bigger communities. Salary: Competitive, depending on experience.

Shifts: Hours of work vary depending on season, workload and other factors. Mechanics will be required to work overtime on a regular basis. Evenings and weekends are required. Some overnight and possibly multiple day out-of-town work required. (Lodging and per diem supplied).

Red Seal Truck or Heavy Equipment Technician 421A is preferred.
Must have a valid DZ driver’s license and clean drivers abstract.

Min 3 years of experience in the medium/heavy duty truck or automotive industry.
Experience with routine maintenance operations.
Experience working with commercial equipment, machinery and vehicles.

Skills and Abilities:
Organized and analytical approach to troubleshooting/problem solving.
Able to work with little supervision and be a motivated self-starter.
Must have a positive attitude and be able to communicate effectively with both Customers and Company Management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise to service and repair company engines and heavy equipment.
Inspect a variety of equipment to ensure proper performance and to identify deficiencies that may require attention.
Troubleshoot and adjust various components to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance on heavy-duty equipment to meet manufacturer’s. specifications and maintenance schedules (including lubrication, oil changes, etc.).
Provide additional manpower for major repair events.
Document failures with engines through failure report forms.
Provide the Shop Manager with inspection reports and maintenance recommendations.
Document work performed with accurate, timely and consistent trip reports.
Mobile Mechanics are to maintain a professional image of themselves with conduct and appearance.
Maintain all company trucks and tooling to a high standard of cleanliness and good working order.
Other duties as required.

Working conditions:
Physically and mentally able to work in a challenging physical outdoor environment.
