Our client, Cosmo Specialty Fibers, Inc. (CSF) is a specialty Dissolving Wood Pulp company focused on high purity lyocell and other high purity softwood-based products at the former Weyerhaeuser Specialty Cellulose Mill in Cosmopolis, Washington. They are seeking multiple Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technicians. Reporting to the E&I Superintendent, this role will be responsible for performing skilled technical work in support of the entire facility operation; including maintaining operation of the mill in compliance with established production schedules and mill requirements, in conjunction with National and Local Electrical Codes.

High school graduate or equivalent.
Journey-level rating in electrical/instrumentation mechanical trade.
Associates degree from a technical school is preferred.
A combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.

5+ years of hands-on electrical/instrumentation experience in a continuous process industry.
Experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment highly preferred with Pulp, Paper, and/or Forest Products experience a plus.

Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated understanding and experience working with AC/DC motors, AC/DC VFD drives, programming and troubleshooting PLC machine controls.
Demonstrated understanding and experience working with DCS systems, process control computers, electronic and pneumatic instrumentation, analytical instrumentation, and control valves.
Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and compliance of regulatory and industrial standards and codes.
Demonstrated understanding and experience with low and medium voltage switchgear.
Demonstrated experience with a continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS).
Demonstrated experience with control loop tuning, performance evaluation tools, and process data historians (i.e. Parcview).
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven experience in computers and standard software packages (MS Office.)

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations, and to appropriately use discretion and sound judgment when dealing with management, employees, vendors and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, configure, perform preventative maintenance, repairs, calibrate, operate test equipment, and adjust any type of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, electronic and other industrial equipment.
Run conduit, pull wire and maintain 125 VDC system and lighting throughout the mill.
Install, troubleshoot and repair VFD, motorized valves and motors.
Responsible for knowledge, configuration, troubleshooting, installation and upgrades of PLC and DCS systems.
Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance based on established procedures and coordinate follow-up work as needed.
Read, understand and maintain schematics in compliance with SOPs, QA, and applicable regulations and policies.
Ensure all electrical and mechanical work meets established NEC codes and standards.
Maintain spare parts inventory over systems assigned to their position as identified by leadership or Engineering.
Assist in outage planning development and implementation.
Participate in procedure audits and reviews, and assist in improving preventative maintenance procedures.
Responsible to attend safety meetings and generate ideas to improve efficiencies on the lines or any topic so designated.
Provide support in the mentorship, training and development of personnel as needed.
Support and adhere to the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental policies and practices, including acquiring and use of all necessary PPE.
Other duties as required.

Working Requirements:
Employee will be required to climb stairs and ladders, work above ground, stoop, crouch or work in cramped or awkward positions, and perform repetitive motions.
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 75+ pounds.
Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Exposure to a wide range of temperatures, vibrations, odors, fumes or airborne particles, toxic, acidic, and/or caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts, equipment and/or vehicular traffic, and risk of electrical shock.
Exposure to noise levels that are frequently loud, as is common in a manufacturing and/or mill operation.
