Our client has openings for E&I Techs who will use their skills and knowledge to support the mill’s operation including maintaining production schedules and mill requirements, in conjunction with National and Local Electrical Codes. These Technicians will report to the E&I Superintendent.

Terms: Permanent, Full-time.

Salary: $5000 signing bonus. New grads (Instrumentation) – 1 yr experience $30 hourly. 2 years experience $32. $35.41 hourly for fully qualified / experienced E&I Techs.

Shifts: 4 days on. 4 off. 4 nights on. 4 off. (shift rotation provides 8 hrs OT every other week)

Education:

Journeyman level in electrical and instrumentation trades
Associates degree from a technical school is preferred.
A combination of equivalent education and various levels of experience will be considered.

Experience (various levels considered):

5+ years of hands-on electrical/instrumentation experience in heavy manufacturing.
Experience in a chemical environment with Pulp, Paper, and/or Forest Products experience is a plus.
PLC troubleshooting and programming.

Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated understanding and experience working with AC/DC motors, AC/DC VFD drives
Demonstrated understanding and experience working with DCS systems, process control computers, electronic and pneumatic instrumentation, analytical instrumentation, and control valves.
Demonstrated understanding and experience with low and medium voltage switchgear.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be equally comfortable working both in a team environment as well as working independently.
Must have effective time management and possess a sense of urgency in work habits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, configure, perform preventative maintenance, repairs, calibrate, operate test equipment, and adjust any type of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, electronic and other industrial equipment.
Run conduit, pull wire and maintain 125 VDC system and lighting throughout the mill.
Install, troubleshoot and repair VFD, motorized valves and motors.
Responsible for knowledge, configuration, troubleshooting, installation and upgrades of PLC and DCS systems.
Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance based on established procedures and coordinate follow-up work as needed.
Ensure all electrical and mechanical work meets established NEC codes and standards.
Support and adhere to the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental policies and practices, including acquiring and use of all necessary PPE.
Other duties as required.

Required to climb stairs and ladders, work above ground, stoop, crouch or work in cramped or awkward positions, and perform repetitive motions.
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 75+ pounds.
Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Exposure to a wide range of temperatures, vibrations, odors, fumes or airborne particles.
Exposure to noise levels that are frequently loud, as is common in a manufacturing and/or mill operation.
