Burns Lake, BC is a small, affordable, community with much to offer in the way of beautiful scenery and choice of summer and winter outdoor activities such as: fishing, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, boating, snowmobiling, hunting and cross-country skiing. The town serves as a hub for the local logging, saw milling, and mining industries. Prince George is approximately 2.5 hour drive from Burns Lake.

Salary: $44,08/hr. Pay rate as per current Collective Agreement.

Shifts: Must be able to work various shifts, no graveyard shifts.

Education: Red Seal or Journeyperson Millwright Ticket. Copy of ticket required.

Maintenance experience in a sawmill, manufacturing or other heavy industrial environment.

Skills and Abilities:
Dedicated to safe work practices.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems, mechanical equipment and processes.
Competencies in Hot Work & Lock Out Protocols.
Excellent time management skills.
Creative mind and strong troubleshooting skills.

Working Conditions:
Medical and physical tests required.
Ability to work in an environment containing wood dust.
Own tools required.
Information Ordering —He/she must be able to demonstrate the ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
Visualization — The millwright must have the ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.
Near Vision — He/she must also have the ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
Manual Dexterity — The individual must have the ability to quickly move his/her hand, his/her hand together with his/her arm, or his/her two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
Multi-limb Coordination — The millwright must have the physical ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
