Primary Purpose: Responsible for the oversight and general management of personnel, equipment, and facilities for all cargo handling operations for a union operation. The position is also responsible for oversight of financial forecasting, customer service and facility development. Direct and manage the marine terminal workforce and facilities for the safe and efficient receipt, storage and transfer of bulk materials

Responsibilities:
? Actively participate in the process to develop marine terminal objectives.
? Responsible for the finances of the terminal, including establishing budgets and financial goals, controlling costs, prepare weekly forecasts for budgetary analysis and controlling capital expenditures.
? Review processes to decrease time discharging vessels and more efficiently warehouse materials
? Monitor maintenance, purchasing, labor, sales.
? Advise senior management of progress toward objectives and develop strategies for necessary adjustments.
? Ensure marine terminal production objectives are achieved and consistent with EHS and quality standards/requirements and operating costs are consistent with budgetary constraints. Oversee and guide the logistics such as transportation and shipping
? Direct operational aspects of EHS, labor, human resources and labor support
? Administer Collective Bargaining Agreement and union related Labor Relations
? Mentor, direct and train current supervisory staff
? Develop, instruct, and discipline the terminal workforce in compliance with KM standards and Collective Bargaining Agreement.
? Serve as facility representative related to commercial, expansion, and development efforts.
? Recognize and promote ideas that provide safer, more efficient and cost effective operation.
? Effectively interface with customer representatives, regulators, KM staff and others as required.
? Manage expansion projects and control the implementation of startups
?Minimum experience, skills, knowledge, certifications, licenses, competencies, working conditions:

Prior managerial experience in a terminal or industrial environment required
Prior experience directing the operations of a marine cargo handling facility.
Must be able to deal effectively with people and resolve conflicts and problems.
Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple projects and make adjustments quickly as needed.
Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communications to a diverse workforce.
Must demonstrate knowledge of the products, modes of transport, and methods of handling bulk materials.
Must be able to analyze financial and cost data and develop conclusions and recommendations.
Must demonstrate knowledge of the regulatory requirements associated with the maritime industry.
Ability to accept direction and work effectively & cooperatively with other people.
Competent in the use of PC and associated applications.
