Customer/Business Orientation:

  • Completes tasks with minimal direction.
  • Consequences of error carry a moderate risk to the organization.
  • Focus on internal and external Customer requirements.
  • Interact with Business Customers as defined by project objectives.
  • Participates, assists, and recommends to/with Sr. Systems Engineers on projects.

Project Management:

  • Participate in developing time estimates for project schedules.
  • Document and communicate assigned work and progress to immediate project team and management.
  • Communicate problems or issues in a timely manner.
  • Support the organizations project management policy, practice and methodology.
  • Must have strong skills with the basic PC software utilized to perform their daily duties, i.e. Word, Excel, Visio, etc
  • Must have strong experience in project management and vendor relations
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.

Problem Solving:

  • Analyze and resolve problems of moderate complexity, requiring knowledge and experience in order to develop and implement advanced hardware, software, and networking solutions.
  • Research and recommend alternative actions for problem resolution, with minimal supervision.
  • Provide effective resolution and follow-up of problems as they occur.
  • Analyze trends to proactively prevent problems.

Testing/Deliverable Quality:

  • Participate in system testing.
  • Test and implement hardware and operating systems components using techniques that preserve system integrity.
  • Understand implications of situations and proactively lead cross-functional problem resolution.

Production Support:

  • Will be required to carry / respond promptly to an on-call pager on a rotating basis with other System Engineers.
  • Responsible for immediate response to system software problems.
  • Needs a strong understanding of root cause analysis procedures.
  • Provide technical problem resolution.
  • Assure functional and technical integrity of system software designs.
  • Must be able to travel on a limited basis to install or troubleshoot equipment at end user locations. Travelling could be heavier during project implementations.

Financial Accountability:

  • Input to budget
  • Perform technical cost-benefit analysis.

System Engineer Platforms:

  • Install, customize, develop, implement and maintain systems developed internally and / or in conjunction with outside vendor.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies.

Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.

May perform other job duties as directed by Employees Leaders.



High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.


  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, and/or equivalent formal training preferred.


  • 4 or more years (or equivalent knowledge base) work experience in Systems Engineering required.
  • At least 2 years work experience in Java required.
  • At least 10 years work experience in Performance testing required.
  • At least 3 years work experience using HP diagnostics, Jprobe required.
  • At least 3 years work experience in JMeter required.
  • At least 3 years performance center experience required.
  • Experience in Mocking / stubbing of code required.


Core Knowledge:

  • Proficient knowledge of key system engineering.
  • Proficient knowledge across technical / business environments.

Critical Skills:

  • Ability, within specific technology areas to independently perform basic troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, solution development, and implementation.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems of medium sized complexity.
  • Ability to review technical work of others / coach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based, Customer service oriented environment.
  • Excellent partnering, negotiation and communication skills in working with Business Customers and Technology support.

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
