Site Services Facilities Coordinator

The Opportunity:
This Facilities Coordinator will work closely with the Facilities Superintendent and focus primarily on Port related activities to ensure that relative aspects of the Site Services ship loading process is formulated and implemented to meet department, company and provincial standards. Will also work on preparing SOPs, Protocols Hazops and Risk Assessments for the various Port Shipping and Marine related activities in the Site Services area of the operation and ensure they are completed on time.
The incumbent will ensure that effective Safety and Environmental procedures, government regulations and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are being updated, implemented and followed in the area of responsibility. This person will familiarize themselves with all commissioning and startup activities, oversee imbedded contract employees to ensure they are effectively supervised and trained so as to provide an acceptable service to all LHPP Site Services customers while maintaining budgets and best business practices. The role will be actively involved in startup and operational activities. They will work closely with planners to ensure and oversee the effective handling of inbound and outbound containers and materials movement, road maintenance, general cargo, finished product, limestone and fuel as well as transfer and storage of those materials at port and around the site.
Incumbent should have an extensive background of experience working with similar Contract groups, Site Services activities, Port and Marine Shipping, Transportation and general administrative responsibilities in a large industrial site services environment.

This is a full time permanent position based in Long Harbour, Newfoundland.

- The incumbent will be attentive to equipment and plant installations so as to understand and appreciate the intricacies of the various plant activities that fall under their area of responsibility and the skill sets required to operate the same. They will work with the Facilities Superintendent, Contract groups and the training group to coordinate training requirements as necessary.
- During the operations phase this person will ensure work areas are operating productively while maintaining maximum efficiency, environmental sensitivity and safety standards.
- Ensure all equipment and resources are in place and ready to operate so as to allow for effective and timely operations.
- Ensure nickel concentrate and finished product, other general cargo and materials are loaded and moved to and from appropriate storage locations by forklift, truck, loaders, cranes and carry lifts so as to satisfy customer demands and requirements.
- Oversee that contract resources are in place at required times to allow for effective winter snow clearing, sanding of roadways and yard areas, garbage pickup, fueling of mobile equipment, cleaning of conveyer galleries after each concentrate transfer and timely compaction of concentrate piles.
- Work closely with the planners to coordinate the daily repairs and preventative maintenance work to mobile equipment to ensure the highest possible level of availability.
- Perform audits to ensure adherence to daily checks and greasing of mobile equipment and supervision of the various systems and equipment.
- Provide routine administration and coordination of activities involved in port and site services activities.
- Interface with other crews, Specialist, Core process owners and other Coaches to provide or acquire guidance, support, remove barriers or obtain resources for initiatives and improvement ideas to improve processes and the business contribution of the crew.

- 2 year college diploma.

- Minimum of 2 - 5 years experience within site services and/or port role.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in the utilization of planning tools such as Microsoft Project and Primavera would be advantageous.
- Previous industrial site services experience is an asset.
- Previous marine port experience is an asset.
- Organizational skills.
- Supervisory/leadership skills.
- Strong communication skills.
