Responsible for leading the accounting team in the monthly financial statement preparation for Independent and IOT (Interstate Owned Territories) Distributorships. Responsible for year end close and year end audit work.

Responsibilities:
  • Direct management responsibility for Accounting Managers, and Advisor Staff. Responsible for production targets and results. 35%
  • Consult with Distributors / Internal customers to enable them to understand the meaning and significance of the n their financial statements, thus facilitating improved management decisions by the Distributors. 10%
  • Marketing of ACES Services to Distributorship Prospects. 5%
  • Review and analyze the monthly financial statements assembled by Team members. 5%
  • Lead projects to improve the accounting and systems processes and procedures for continuous improvement. 25%
  • Lead participant in annual year end audit work. 10%
  • Interact with Interstate Operations Management on accounting procedures. 5%
  • Lead the field Office Manager Team Leads in process changes for continuous improvement. 5%
  • Ensures that monthly financial statements are assembled accurately and timely and assists IBSA Distributors, through financial consultation, to better manage their business.
  • Provide training and guidance to Financial Advisors to prepare accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Participate with management in improving the processes and procedures
  • Review s financial statements assembled by team members.
  • Validates practices are consistent with Controllers policies.
  • Works with Operations Management Team and ensures accounting procedures best support changes in the business process
  • Daily management and supervision of and accountability for performance of Team.
  • Interacts with ACES Management, Financial Services Director, Controllers Group, ACES Distributors and periodically with Interstate Operations Management team.
  • Responsible for $1 million dollar cost center budget, $550 thousand dollar revenue budget.
Qualifications:
  • Accounting Degree is required.
  • CPA a plus
  • Minimum six years corporate general accounting experience in multi state, multi company, multi currency company of $1 billion + revenues
  • Experience in year end audit procedures
  • Minimum two years accounting / bookkeeping staff management experience.
  • Peoplesoft, JDEdwards general ledger experience helpful
  • Ten key /touch key ability helpful
  • Excellent personal computer skills including MS Excel, Power Point, WORD and Access
  • Team player and experienced working with Operations and Sales Teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement new accounting processes to support business changes.
  • Excellent analytical and decision making skills
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, training , supervision and other management skills
  • Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 10+ lbs.
  • Prolonged use of personal computer & telephone.
