Job Description:
 Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed, and plan best sequence of operations.
 Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces.
 Repair machine tools and parts,
 Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools which may include computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools (if applicable) to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, lapping, honing, drilling, precision grinding and other operations.
 Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools
 Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments,
 Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances,
 Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports,
 Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers),
 Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments,
 May set up and program machine tools for use by machining tool operators.
 Use precision measuring tools like Micrometers, Callipers, Verniers, Dial indicators, etc.
 Handle / Lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
 Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces


-Education: Completion of secondary school
-Experience: Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program or A combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in machining is required to be eligible for trade certification.

Capable of working unsupervised to operate manual machines such as Horizontal / Vertical boring mills, Milling machines, large swing Lathe, hollow spindle Lathe, Surface grinders, Cylindrical grinders, Drill presses, Lapping machine, Honing machine, Universal grinders.
Ability to operate Computer numerical control (CNC) lath an asset.
Good English reading, writing and speaking skills
Willing to work in a fast pace environment with tight deadlines while giving attention to detail
Dependable, accurate, flexible, team player

Salary: $35.00 to $41.00 hourly, 40 Hours per week. Monday to Friday 8.00 AM -4:30 PM. Overtime and weekend work are required.
