Interstate Batteries, a Best Place to Work in DFW has an outstanding accounting opportunity in Dallas, TX. Position assembles, reviews, and distributes monthly financial statements to distributors; also occasionally consults, advises and interprets the meaning and significance of financial statements. This position requires experience, knowledge and competency in accounting principles, practices and analysis, and an ability to provide superior quality service to our customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare 1214 monthly financial reports including bank reconciliation, inventory valuation, fixed assets, and general accounting accruals monthly for Distributors in an accurate and timely manner to meet the 14-day service commitment
  • Closely analyze financial statements for accuracy prior to submitting to Senior Financial Advisor or ACES Director for formal review.
  • Provide Distributors with feedback regarding the significant elements of the financial statements in order to enable the Distributors to make informed management decisions (i.e., improve profitability).
  • Provide internal customers (i.e., Interstate Ops, IBSA Credit Department and Development Group) with pertinent financial information about IBSA distributorships.
  • Participate in special projects to improve the processes and procedures of the Department (i.e., Process Mapping, Consistency, Inventory Valuation Methodology, System Issues)
Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred or 3 years of related Accounting experience

A minimum of one year of Financial Reporting experience (Income Statements, Financial Statements, etc.)

A minimum 1 years general accounting/bookkeeping experience preferably in distribution industry Strong personal computer skills including experience with MS Excel and WORD

JD Edwards, Enterprise One, or Platinum general ledger experience helpful.

Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently but capable of working in a team environment as well

Excellent interpersonal , customer service, telephone, explanation ,verbal and written communication skills

Well organized, high degree of accuracy and very detailed oriented.
