Position Description:

Opportunity for a self-starter who enjoys working independently and being part of a valuable team that is fast-paced and streamlined to provide customer support for the Natural Gas Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) department. Candidate will perform activities to support Natural Gas EHS with coordination, consolidation and analysis of financial forecasts and budgets for the department. Position will also provide financial and administrative services including, invoice processing and troubleshooting, development of internal EHS financial reports, and other EHS operational and administrative responsibilities, as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with and manage departmental expense and capital budget preparation for Natural Gas EHS
Coordinate and assist EHS management team with monthly forecasting and financial reporting
Data accumulation, organization, interpretation and utilization
Prepare various reports deriving information from multiple data sources both internal and external to this organization as well as from company data sources
Develop mechanisms to identify, chart or otherwise document business processes impacting this organization
Work individually or as part of a team to assess business processes and identify and implement process improvements and documentation
Provide analytical assistance and back-up for other organizational analysts on an as-needed basis
Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills, and listen carefully
Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of job performance
Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public
Promote the Companys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and the Companys EHS Policy Statement
Work non-traditional hours, as needed
All other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:

Education:
Four-year professional degree required
A minimum 5 years direct work experience with proven results may be accepted as a degree substitute
Certification, licenses, registrations:
A satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company and a current, valid State drivers license are required

Competencies, skills, and abilities:
High level of proficiency with Excel formulas and macros
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels of management
Self-starter, with a high degree of initiative
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher)
Ability to learn Kinder Morgan financial applications, such as Lawson, Forecasting Datamarts, KM Budget System, etc.; and have the ability to adapt to frequent updates within systems as industry requirements change
Ability to multi-task within a changing environment
Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines while maintaining the ability to adapt to fluctuations in those deadlines and/or support unanticipated tasks
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes.
Ability to analyze information and recognize, communicate and resolve irregularities, conflicts, and issues
Ability to check work to insure accuracy and timely results of data, reports, files and other documents
Team player; ability to accept supervision and direction; ability to work in a cooperative manner with multiple individuals within EHS and various Operations organizations
Must maintain a high degree of professionalism

Physical demands:
Regularly required to sit for prolonged periods, extensive keyboarding tasks, ability to reach with hands, arms, shoulders, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions:
Based in Houston, TX
Up to 5% travel is anticipated
Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets
The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed

Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities:

Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
Experience with Lawson and Essbase
Knowledge of Natural Gas Pipelines
Experience with industry-related EHS processes a plus
